Smith & Nephew and Biomet: Prelim Talks

Europe’s biggest medical devices maker Smith & Nephew PLC has held “very preliminary talks” over a tie-up with U.S. rival Biomet Inc., Smith & Nephew said on Thursday as it met forecasts for third-quarter earnings.
