Irvine-based Edwards Lifesciences Corp. was up 2% to $80.25 and a $17.3 billion market cap. Evercore ISI Group initiated coverage on shares of the medical device maker with a “hold” rating.
Irvine-based Biolase Inc. was up 13.2% to $1.01 and a $59 million market cap on high volume. The dental laser maker had traded shares by midday at a rate twice that of its 90-day average.
SERVICES
Newport Beach-based Acacia Research Corp. was down 9% to $3.80 and a $193 million market cap. Barclays downgraded shares in the patent licensing company to “underweight” and set a $4 price target.
RETAIL
Irvine-based Tilly’s Inc. was down 3.5% to $6.27 and a $179 million market cap. Guggenheim initiated coverage on the apparel chain with a “neutral” rating.
AGRICULTURE
Newport Beach-based American Vanguard Corp. was down 5.2% to $11.28 and a $329 million market cap. The specialty chemical maker’s shares have fallen 20% this week after an analyst downgrade yesterday.
