The S&P 500 was up 0.1% to 4,463.9 in midday trading Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.1% to 35,533.96, while the Nasdaq was about flat at 14,811.9.
Crude oil fell 0.8% to $68.57.
Gold was up 1.6% to $1,780.60.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury was down 4.8% to 1.3%.
TECHNOLOGY
Viant Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: DSP) fell 10.4% to $16.24 for a market cap of $964.2 million. The Irvine ad tech company was trading on volume lower than its daily average. Viant, on Thursday, reported better-than-expected earnings for the second quarter.
SERVICES
Irvine-based environmental services firm Montrose Environmental Group (NYSE: MEG) was down 6.2% to $46.81 for a market cap of $1.2 billion. Shares in the company, which this week announced a headquarters move from Irvine to Arkansas, are still up about 40% since the start of the year.
