The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.7% to 34,837.31.
The Nasdaq climbed 0.2% to 14,792.71.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was up 0.5% to 1.182%.
The price of gold was flat at $1,809 an ounce.
Crude oil declined 3% to $68.42 a barrel.
TECHNOLOGY
Alteryx Inc. (NYSE: AYX) dropped 15% to $67.04 and a $4.5 billion market cap. The Irvine-based software provider of data analytics said yesterday it sees third-quarter revenue of $121 million to $124 million and an adjusted net loss in a range of 18 cents to 21 cents per share. That compares to consensus for $146.9 million in revenue and a 3-cent profit per share.
MEDICAL DEVICES
Envista Holdings Corp. (NYSE: NVST) declined 4.8% to $41.68 and a $6.7 billion market cap. The Brea-based provider of dental products yesterday reported second-quarter revenue that doubled to $740 million and an adjusted profit of 53 cents, both of which topped analyst results. The shares are still up almost double that of a year ago.
