The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.5% to 34,473.27 while the Nasdaq was off 0.1% to 14,510.84.
Crude oil increased 1.2% to $73.85 a barrel.
Gold climbed 0.6% to $1,774.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury fell 2.5% to 1.443%.
Tustin-based Avid Bioservices Inc. (Nasdaq: CDMO) jumped 6.5% to $25.65 and a $1.6 billion market cap. Avid, a contract manufacturer of biologics, yesterday reported fourth-quarter revenue of $27.6 million and said it’s signed $148 million in new business orders and has a fiscal year-end backlog of $118 million, an 85% and 82% increase over the prior year respectively. The company forecast FY2022 revenue of $115 million to $117 million, topping the average analyst estimate of $112.2 million.
TECHNOLOGY
Netlist Inc. (OTC: NLST) leaped 13% to $3.67 and a $793 million market cap. Volume of 3.4 million shares was almost three times the daily average of the past 30 days. Shares of the Irvine-based provider of memory chips are up almost eight-fold this year.
