Indexes rose today in midday trading after slowing economic growth and falling commodity prices eased investors worries over interest rate increases, according to Reuters.
The S&P 500 gained 2.4% to 3,889.75.
The Dow 30 increased 2.2% to 31,357.61
The Nasdaq jumped 2.5% to 11,510.31.
Crude oil rose 2.5% to $106.84 per barrel.
Gold was flat at $1,828 an ounce.
The yield on a 10-year bond was up 1.6% to 3.117%.
SERVICES
Resources Connection Inc. (Nasdaq: RGP) rose 8.2% to $19.92 per share and a $661 million market cap. Shares for the Irvine-based consulting firm have been up about 50% since their 52-week low last July.
RETAIL
Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) rose 7.6% to $78.39 per share and a $2.3 billion market cap. Shares for the Irvine-based shoes and apparel chain have been down about 42% since their 52-week high last December.
TECHNOLOGY
CalAmp Corp. (Nasdaq: CAMP) dropped 28% to $5.67 per share and a $186 million market cap. Shares for the Irvine-based telematics firm fell after the company’s first quarter fiscal 2023 earnings missed analysts’ expectations, reporting $64.7 million while the average analyst estimate was $69.4 million.
