Indexes rose as strong consumer spending and signs of inflation peaking eased investors’ fears over an economic slowdown.
The S&P500 jumped 1.8% to 4,129.14.
The Dow 30 was up 1% at 32,988.08.
The Nasdaq gained 2.5% to 12,036.61.
Crude oil increased 0.5% to $114.62 a barrel.
Gold rose 0.2% to $1,850 an ounce.
The yield on a 10-year bond fell 0.3% to 2.749%.
HEALTHCARE
Evolus Inc. (Nasdaq: EOLS) jumped 11% to $13.16 a share and a $749 million market cap. After experiencing a dip last November, shares for the Newport Beach-based provider of aesthetic therapeutics have been up nearly 150%.
MANUFACTURING
Romeo Power Inc. (NYSE: RMO) gained 7.8% to $0.87 per share and a $132 million market cap. The EV battery maker, soon to be moving to Cypress, announced yesterday that it is supplying batteries to an unnamed leader in powertrain performance products.
