WHO: The Ferders moved diamond jeweler business from Israel to Newport Beach in 2005, and now counts eight jewelry salons in the U.S., including its recently renovated flagship at Fashion Island. Lugano is currently the best-performing consumer brand unit under parent Compass Diversified Holdings (NYSE: CODI).
WHY: Moti Ferder is currently a board member for the Segerstrom Center for the Arts and the Lupus Research Alliance. Through Lugano, the couple supports more than 80 organizations focused on healthcare, education and the arts such as the Mission Hospital Foundation, Friends of CASA for Children, United Way and The Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders and many others. Idit Ferder sits on the board of the Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA).
IN THE NEWS: Lugano is currently working on its first international location in London. Its new private club Privé at its Newport Beach store has a quarterly culinary club with Ment’or, a nonprofit founded by famed chefs Keller, Daniel Boulud and Jerome Bocuse to help cultivate and support young talent in the culinary industry.
NOTABLE: Lugano has donated more than $3.5M to OCMA to ensure 10 years of free admissions.
