The S&P 500 was up 0.7% to 4,223.25 in midday trading Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.4% to 34,696.84, while the Nasdaq increased 1.4% to 13,802.99.
Crude oil was up 0.9% to $69.46.
Gold rose 1% to $1,892.60.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury fell 4% to 1.56%.
Inari Medical Inc. (Nasdaq: NARI) increased 6.2% to $84.56. The Irvine-based maker of devices to remove blood clots had a recent market cap of $4.2 billion.
Other OC medical device makers on the rise Friday, include Irvine maker of wireless patient monitoring devices Masimo Corp. (Nasdaq: MASI), which was up 1.2% to $211.58 for a market cap of $11.6 billion. Irvine heart valve maker Edwards Lifesciences Corp. (NYSE: EW) increased 1.5% to $95.77 for a market cap of $59.5 billion.
Irvine men’s and women’s retailer Tilly’s Inc. (NYSE: TLYS) rose 4.9% to $15.15 for a market cap of about $4 billion. The company on Thursday reported better-than-expected results for its fiscal first quarter ended May 1 as it continues to see positive sales momentum aided in part by stimulus spending and a return back to school classrooms.
