The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.1% to 36,122.20, while the Nasdaq decreased 0.3% to 15,818.35.
Crude oil was down 1.2% to $79.84.
Gold was off 0.1% to $1,866.40.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury was up 2.1% to 1.62%.
Irvine electric vehicle maker Rivian Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: RIVN) continued its climb from last week when it began trading on Wednesday in what is now the largest IPO of the year. Rivian was up 12.3% to $145.95 and a market cap of $123.3 billion.
Shares of Laguna Hills dental device maker Sonendo Inc. (NYSE: SONX) were up 8.6% to $10.89 for a market cap of $286.9 million. The company’s shares are up nearly 19% since it began trading late last month.
