• Taco Bell Corp. in Irvine came in at No. 12 with $9.6 billion in sales and 6,604 locations worldwide
• Real estate agency Berkshire Hathaway Home Services in La Palma was No. 51 with $2.7 billion in sales and 1,269 locations
• The am/pm mini-market chain, a unit of British Petroleum which franchises out of La Palma under the name BP West Coast Products LLC, was No. 87 with $1.2 billion in sales and 990 locations
• El Pollo Loco in Costa Mesa ranked No. 105 with $796 million in sales from 460 locations
• Del Taco in Lake Forest was No. 107 with $750 million in sales and 551 locations
• Budget Blinds in Irvine was No. 170 with $410 million in sales from 1,100 locations; its sister firm, Tailored Living, a spaces organizer, was No. 398 with 201 locations and $53 million in sales
• Johnny Rockets in Lake Forest was No. 185 with $353 million and 387 locations
• Sizzler in Mission Viejo was No. 209 with $275 million from 138 restaurants
• Wienerschnitzel in Irvine was No. 224 with $249 million in sales and 319 sites
• Yogurtland in Irvine came in at No. 262 with $180 million from 321 locations
• UFC Gym in Santa Ana was No. 294 with $130 million from 130 mixed martial arts gyms
• Flame Broiler in Santa Ana was No. 324 with $103 million at 185 locations
• PIP Marketing in Mission Viejo was No. 369 with $66 million from 71 units
• Nekter Juice Bar in Santa Ana was No. 420 with $44 million and 62 locations
• TeamLogic IT in Mission Viejo was No. 438 with $39 million from 111 locations
• Juice It Up in Irvine was No. 470 with $33 million at 88 locations
OC franchisers the list missed include Pieology, with $150 million in 2016 sales; Ruby’s, with $92 million; and Panini Café, with $44 million.
