A fitness franchise that uses electro muscle stimulation to deliver a more effective workout is scouting locations for its first Orange County outpost, with plans to open at least 17 locations here over the next three years.
Ohm Fitness uses wearable bodysuits with 30 built-in pads that wirelessly deliver pulses to contract muscles up to 85 times per second, which provides “the benefits of an intense two-hour workout into a low-impact, 25-minute session,” the company said.
The company, headed by former Orangetheory Fitness executive Doug Payne, signed its first area development agreement in Arizona in July, a month after debuting its test studio in Scottsdale.
Ohm Fitness is scouting retail locations between 1,500 square feet and 2,500 square feet in grocery-anchored centers near other membership-model businesses.
