The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond increased 6.5% to 1.865%
The price of gold jumped 2.3% to $2,041.90.
The price for a barrel of oil surged 4% to $124.18.
Irvine-based electric vehicle maker Rivian Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: RIVN) rose 4.5% to $44.37 per share for a market cap of $39 billion. Investor website TheMotleyFool.com said the stock rebounded from morning lows “as geopolitical uncertainty continues to push oil prices higher.”
Western-themed retailer Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) jumped 8.6% to $90.25 apiece for a market cap of $2.7 billion. Zacks Equity Research said earlier in the day that Boot Barn is among the companies “set to cash in on the opportunities” for retail post COVID and the company has an estimated long-term earnings growth rate of 20%.
