The price for a barrel of oil dropped less than 0.1% to $103.19.

AEROSPACE

Space tourism company Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc. (NYSE: SPCE) in Tustin fell 7.5% to $9.75 per share for a market cap of $2.5 billion. A newspaper report yesterday quoted the deputy director of the United Arab Emirates space agency as saying that its 2019 agreement with Virgin Galactic is no longer in effect, and the UAE agency is now working with Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin to set up spaceports.

AUTOMOTIVE

Electric vehicle maker Rivian Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: RIVN) in Irvine was down 7.5% to $43.05 per share for a market cap of $38 billion. Rivian shares fell after Investor’s Business Daily said earlier in the day that Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) and BYD (002594.SZ) of China are still “setting the pace” in the EV industry.
