The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.6% to 34,791.19 while the the Nasdaq increased 0.4% to 15,098.90.
Crude oil rose 3% to $72.59.
Gold fell 0.7% to $1,794 an ounce.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury climbed 2.89% to 1.314%.
Irvine-based Kura Sushi USA Inc. (Nasdaq: KRUS) increased 4% to $51.40 and a $441 million market cap. Shares in the revolving sushi bar are still down 20% since July when it issued more shares to raise $56.9 million.

San Clemente’s Glaukos Corp. (NYSE: GKOS) increased 2.8% to $51.40 and a $2.4 billion market cap. Glaukos, a maker of devices to treat glaucoma, announced today it settled a patent infringement lawsuit with Irvine-based Ivantis Inc., which has agreed to pay it $60 million and an ongoing royalty.
