Gold rose 1.1% to $1,831.9.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury increased 2.3% to 1.32%.
Shares of Newport Beach aesthetics company Evolus Inc. (Nasdaq: EOLS) fell 7.1% to $9.76 for a market cap of $532.7 million. The company’s shares have risen more than 200% since the start of the year.
Irvine retailer Tilly’s Inc. (NYSE: TLYS) was down 6.3% to $14.75, amid a broader decline for retailers. The S&P Retail Select Industry Index was down about 1% Friday to 9,929.27. Tilly’s, with a recent market cap of $445 million, on Thursday reported better-than-expected results for its fiscal second quarter ended July 31.
