The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.4% to 36,066.75, while the Nasdaq was up 0.9% to 15,845.28.

Crude oil fell 0.9% to $80.83.

Gold rose 0.1% to $1,865.20.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury increased 1.1% to 1.58%.

Kura Sushi USA Inc. (Nasdaq: KRUS) jumped 24.1% to $67.65, a day after the Irvine revolving sushi bar concept delivered better than expected results for its fiscal fourth quarter as its restaurant recovery continues to gain traction. The restaurant operator, with 33 restaurants, had a recent market cap of $655.5 million and was trading at volume nearly five times its daily average.



Irvine boutique fitness franchisor Xponential Fitness Inc. (NYSE: XPOF) climbed 21.9% to $23.81 for a market cap of $1.1 billion. The company was trading at about three times its daily average after reporting on Thursday its third-quarter results and increasing its guidance for the year. Xponential boosted its systemwide sales estimate to $690 million to $700 million and said it expects 230 to 250 studios to open this year.


Irvine electric vehicle maker Rivian Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: RIVN) continued to rise from its stock market debut Wednesday, with its shares up 5.7% to $130.01 for a market cap of $127.3 billion. The company’s now the largest U.S. IPO this year and the seventh largest in U.S. history, with nearly $12 billion raised.
