MEDICAL DEVICES
San Clemente’s Glaukos Corp. (NYSE: GKOS) jumped 19% to $53.40 and a $2.5 billion market cap. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published its final payment rates for 2022, which investors considered as favorable for Glaukos. The shares of the maker of glaucoma therapies fell by about 38% in July after the CMS issued its preliminary rates.


VIDEO GAMES
Activision Blizzard Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) plunged 15% to $65.97 and a $51 billion market cap. The Santa Monica-based video game maker, which has large operations in Irvine, yesterday forecast fourth quarter revenue and profit that missed analysts’ average estimates and said two new games will take longer than expected to release.
