The S&P 500 was down 0.2% to 3,931.55 in midday trading Friday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.5% to 32,653.52, while the Nasdaq declined 0.9% to 13,269.61.

Crude oil was about flat at $66.03.

Gold was off 0.4% to $1,716.60.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury surged 6.5% to 1.63%.

TECHNOLOGY
Irvine advertising software maker Viant Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: DSP) rose 20.1% to $52.65 for a market cap of $3.1 billion. The company, which went public last month, was trading on volume lower than its daily average and is down about 7.4% from its opening price.

HEALTHCARE
Irvine medical device maker Inari Medical Inc. (Nasdaq: NARI) shares fell 7.2% to $116.85 for a market cap of $5.8 billion.

Other local medical device makers also down on Friday included ClearPoint Neuro Inc. (Nasdaq: CLPT) of Irvine with its shares down 3.6% to $19.76 for a market cap of $385.6 million. Lake Forest-based STAAR Surgical Company (Nasdaq: STAA) decreased 1.9% to $90.33 for a market cap of $4.2 billion. Aliso Viejo-based Glaukos Corp. (NYSE: GKOS) fell 1.2% to $88.05 for a market cap of $3.9 billion.
