The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.7% to 31,144.37, while the Nasdaq was flat 12,727.15.

Crude oil was up 3.5% to $66.08.

Gold fell 0.2% to $1,698.10.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury rose 0.7% to 1.56%.

ClearPoint Neuro Inc. (Nasdaq: CLPT) tumbled 19.8% to $16.10, a day after reporting fourth-quarter and full-year results that beat expectations. The Irvine-based medical device maker did not provide 2021 guidance citing continued impacts on ICU bed capacity due to the pandemic. ClearPoint had a recent market cap of $333 million.

Newport Beach-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Nasdaq: CLNE) fell 10.4% to $10.92, a day after revealing a joint venture with Total SE (NYSE: TOT) for further development of renewable gas infrastructure (RNG) in the way of carbon-negative RNG facilities among other things. Shares of Clean Energy have risen 39% so far this year. The company had a recent market cap of $2.2 billion.

Irvine air quality and environmental services firm Montrose Environmental Group Inc. (NYSE: MEG) continued its slide from Thursday, with shares down 10.3% to $39.44 for a market cap of $984.5 million. The company was trading on volume lower than its daily average. The company is still up 17% since the start of the year.
