The S&P 500 fell 0.3% to 4,195.65 in midday trading.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was flat at 34,615.34 while the Nasdaq dropped 0.9% to 13,630.53.
Crude oil was off 0.2% to $68.71 a barrel.
Gold was down 2% to $1,872.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury increased 2% to 1.6220%.
Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Nasdaq: CLNE), OC’s largest public clean tech firm, jumped 15% to $9.35 for a $1.9 billion market cap. Volume was three times its daily average of 6.8 million shares. Shares of the Newport Beach-based company have more than doubled since December.
Orange-based Alignment Healthcare Inc. fell 6.5% to $23.44 and a $4.4 billion market cap. Shares of the provider of Medicare Advantage insurance plans are still up 30% since its IPO price of $18 on March 26.
