U.S. stocks rallied Monday in the final week of the year.
The S&P 500 was up 1% to 4,774.3 in midday trading.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.7% to 36,184.07, while the Nasdaq climbed 1.1% to 15,829.42.
Crude oil increased 2.8% to $75.82.
Gold was flat at $1,811.10.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury was down 1.1% to $1.48%.
Electric vehicle battery maker Romeo Power Inc. (NYSE: RMO) was down 7.9% to $3.84 and a market cap of $515.2 million. The company, which is set to relocate from Vernon to expanded headquarters in Cypress, was trading on volume lower than its daily average.
Irvine electric vehicle maker Rivian Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: RIVN) was up 6.3% to $102.89 for a market cap of $90.9 billion.
EV automakers were generally mixed on Monday. Tesla Inc. (Nasdaq: TSLA) rose 4.6% to $1,115.64 and a market cap of $1.1 trillion. Lucid Group Inc.’s (Nasdaq: LCID) stock increased 3% to $38.76 for a market cap of $63.8 billion. Meanwhile, NIO Inc. (NYSE: NIO) fell 1.8% to $29.97 and a market cap of $47.7 billion. XPeng Inc. (NYSE: XPEV) declined 0.8% to $45.74 for a market cap of $39.1 billion.
