The S&P 500 rose 0.4% in midday trading to 3,375.21.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.2% to 25,937.56.
The Nasdaq increased 1.1% to 10,456.90.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond jumped 2% to 0.663%.
The price of gold climbed 0.7% to $1,822 an ounce.
A barrel of oil was 0.9% higher to $40.98.
Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Nasdaq: CLNE) in Newport Beach jumped 30% to $2.89 and a $581 million market cap. The natural gas provider, which has 530 fueling stations in North America, said it has partnered with energy giant Chevron to supply truck operators in the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
Newport Beach-based Evolus Inc. (Nasdaq: EOLS) continued its slide, dropping another 9% to $3.51 for a market cap of $118 million. The shares yesterday slumped 27% after an administrative law judge released an initial determination against Evolus and Daewoong Pharmaceutical in a dispute over imports of wrinkle treatment Jeuveau. Evolus, which makes a competitor to Allergan’s Botox, said it intends to seek a review by the full U.S. International Trade Commission.
