Newport Beach-based private equity firm Windjammer Capital bought Compex Legal Services Inc. in Torrance, in partnership with management, on undisclosed terms.
Compex clients, including insurance carriers, third party administrators and law firms, outsource medical records management and litigation support to the company, founded in 1972. Its services include retrieval, summarization, multi-plaintiff litigation support, subpoena delivery and deposition reporting.
“The company’s national scale and recent implementation of its next generation workflow technology make Compex attractively positioned for growth, both organically and through acquisition,” Ryan Pertz, principal at Windjammer, said in a statement.
Compex is the third investment from Windjammer's $870 million Senior Equity Fund V, L.P.
