UC $2M Will Back COVID-19 Research
Wednesday, April 8, 2020
Emergency funds totaling $2 million for early-stage research projects related to COVID-19 are immediately available, according to the UC Office of the President.
Individual grants of up to $25,000 are available for about six months of work.
Project proposals need “actionable science” that “yields measurable, short-term outcomes” and addresses “the needs of the vulnerable populations.”
UCI research projects on campus are overseen by Vice Chancellor of Research Pramod Khargonekar.
The UC system committed money from a pool of research grants on breast cancer, tobacco-related disease and HIV/AIDS.
More information on the work is available here.
