Newport Beach-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Nasdaq: CLNE) rose 10% to $3.94 and a $601 million market cap. Patrick Pouyanne, chief executive of French oil and gas company Total SA, yesterday said natural gas consumption in the next 20 years should grow 2% annually, or twice the pace of oil, Reuters reported. Total paid $83.4 million to buy a 25% stake in Clean Energy Fuels in May. Shares have tripled since a 52-week low in March.
Alteryx Inc. (NYSE: AYX) in Irvine was up 4.8% to $37.39 and a $2.27 billion market cap. Company insiders have bought 1.18 million shares in the past three months while selling 240,000, according to Nasdaq data. The purchases may signal confidence in the company’s future, according to an analysis posted yesterday on Simply Wall Street.
