Santa Ana-based advertising agency Amusement Park named Melissa Norton its media director, replacing Cathy Sosa, who retired in June after 30 years with the agency.

Norton joined the company on July 1 and will integrate media planning with creative, social and digital strategies. She previously served as group director at Santa Monica-based ad agency RPA, where she managed retail media strategies for automakers Honda and Acura.

President and Partner Ed Collins said it was tough to say goodbye to Sosa—an original employee when it opened for business in 1988 as DGWB Advertising and Communications.

“Cathy had been a loyal member of the Amusement Park team for 30 years and helped build the agency’s strong local and national legacy, especially in media,” he said in a statement. “While it was hard to see her go, we’re excited to offer Melissa’s extensive media experience to existing and future clients.”
