Bellwether Financial Group in Newport Beach named Ralph Grippo a principal, the company said.
Bellwether is an investor group founded and run by Joe Ueberroth, with a big focus on marinas—it’s partners with Burnham Ward Properties and R.D. Olson Development, both in Newport Beach, in heading the $338 million redevelopment of Dana Point Harbor.
Burnham Ward leads the retail portion, R.D. Olson the hospitality, and Bellwether the marina and boat storage—about 2,300 slips and nearly 400 dry-storage spots.
Grippo was previously president of Irvine Co.’s resort division for 11 years. The unit oversees the Resort at Pelican Hill, Fashion Island Hotel, Hotel Irvine, three golf courses, and a half-dozen marinas with 600 boat slips, mostly in OC.
Joe Ueberroth is the son of OC investor and former MLB Commissioner Peter Ueberroth.
