Costa Mesa-based life insurance planning firm Tippett Moorhead & Haden Insurance Services LLC has been acquired by the Alera Group, a national employee benefits, property and casualty, risk management and wealth management firm. Terms of the transaction weren’t announced.
Tippett ranked 20th on the Business Journal’s most recent list of the fastest-growing small private companies, reporting that its revenue doubled to $6 million in a two-year period ended June 30.
“As an Alera Group company, we are now able to meet our clients growing needs with the breadth and depth of the tools, industry-leading products and services that Alera Group brings to the table,” Tippett Moorhead & Haden Managing Partner Don Tippett said in a statement.
Alera Group, based in Deerfield, Ill., was formed in 2016 and now has 950 employees and 20,000 clients. It’s the 15th-largest independent insurance agency in the U.S. and the seventh-largest independent employee benefits firm.
