The S&P 500 was down 0.2% in midday trading to 2,343.72.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.1% to 20,588.93.
The NASDAQ was down 0.2% to 5,806.61.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond fell 2.4% to 2.44%.
The price of gold rose 0.7% to $1,241.
FINANCE
Consumer Portfolio Services Inc. in Irvine was down 3.8% to $4.81 and a $115 million market cap on above-average volume. Shares had risen about 3% yesterday after the car loan servicer posted higher revenue for its fourth quarter and full year.
HEALTHCARE
Peregrine Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Tustin was up 12.2% to 43 cents and a $112 million market cap. Shares are up about one-third since the drug developer last week published positive ‘proof-of-concept’ data on a cancer detection product.
MYnd Analytics Inc. in Mission Viejo was up 12.1% to $7.25 and a $16 million market cap on unusually high volume. Some 16,000 shares had traded by midday compared with a 90-day average of less than 300. MYnd’s business provides predictive analytics services to mental health practitioners to help treat behavioral disorders.
