Del Taco Restaurants Inc. in Lake Forest named Barry Westrum chief marketing officer.
He takes on duties once overseen by John Cappasola Jr., who became chief executive of the fast food chain in July.
Cappasola replaced Chief Executive Paul Murphy, who resigned from the post he’d held since 2009 to become executive chairman at Noodles & Co., a struggling fast-casual pasta chain based in Broomfield, Colo.
Westrum was previously executive vice president of marketing for International Dairy Queen Inc. in Edina, Minn., a unit of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. holding company in Omaha.
He was CMO with KFC for about a year and earlier in his career a senior director of marketing at Taco Bell Corp. in Irvine for 14 years.
He’s a graduate of California State University-Fullerton.
