The S&P 500 was up 0.4% in midday trading to 2,107.74.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.6% to 17,905.27.

The NASDAQ was up 0.5% to 4,967.67.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was up 0.6% to 1.72%.

The price of gold was up 0.4% to $1,248.


Laguna Hills-based Glaukos Corp. was up 6.7% to $26.46 and an $861 million market cap. Cantor Fitzgerald initiated coverage on the glaucoma treatment products maker with a “buy” rating and a $35 price target.

Irvine-based ChromaDex Corp. was down 1.7% to $5.66 and a $207 million market cap. The nutritional ingredients maker said it will raise $5.25 million by selling 1.1 million common shares at $4.70 apiece to one investor. Proceeds will be used to pay off debt of about $4.86 million.
