The S&P 500 was down 0.1% to 1,911.44.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.2% to 16,367.60.

The NASDAQ was down 0.3% to 4,493.20.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was down 0.7% to 1.87%.

The price of gold was up 1.3% to $1,156.


San Clemente-based ICU Medical Inc. was down 9.5% to $88.26 and a $1.4 billion market cap. The infusion device maker beat some estimates in its quarterly report issued after markets closed yesterday but said net income dropped 26% to $5.5 million compared with the same period last year.


Irvine-based Impac Mortgage Holdings Inc. was down 8.8% to $13.12 and a $135 million market cap on above-average volume. The mortgage lender by midday had traded shares at a rate 50% higher than its 90-day average.


Irvine-based Boot Barn Holdings Inc. was up another 5.3% to $7.94 and a $209 million market cap. Shares in the western wear retailer have risen 45% in the last two days on the heels of its most recent quarterly report.
