J.Jill Group Inc. is set to open a store at the Shops at Mission Viejo this winter. The Quincy, Mass.-based women’s apparel, accessories and footwear retailer will move into a 3,757-square-foot space vacated by Coldwater Creek Inc., which filed for bankruptcy earlier this year.

J.Jill is owned by Bahrain-based investment firm Arcapita Bank and private equity firm Golden Gate Capital in San Francisco. Its target consumers are women between the ages of 40 and 65 years old. The brand has more than 225 stores nationwide and competes with Talbots Inc., which owned it from 2006 to 2009.

Other J.Jill Orange County stores are at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Fashion Island in Newport Beach and Birch Street Promenade in Brea.
