The S&P 500 was flat at 2,074.22 in midday trading.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was flat at 17,910.63 and the Nasdaq rose 0.1% to 4,779.46.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond declined 1% to 2.26%.
The price of gold declined 0.1% to $1,207.80.
Two OC-based apparel retailers were higher at midday on positive quarterly reports.
Irvine-based Tilly’s Inc. was up 21% to $8.56 and a market cap of $240.3 million. It reported a 5.7% year-over-year increase in sales for the quarter, to $131.3 million.
Anaheim-based Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. was up 7.7% to $1.83 and a market cap of $126.7 million. It reported a 4.4% increase in quarterly sales year-over-year to $212.3 million.
The rising tide also boosted Huntington Beach-based surf wear retailer Quiksilver Inc., which was up 4.6% to $1.84 and a market cap of $314.6 million.
