Cypress-based Manhattan Beachwear Inc. signed a licensing deal to make and sell Sperry Top-Sider's first men's and women's swimwear lines.

Manhattan Beachwear is responsible for the design, manufacture, market and distribution of Lexington, Mass.-based Sperry’s new lines under the licensing agreement.

Sperry is part of Topeka, Kan.-based Collective Brands Inc., which also owns Keds and Airwalk among other footwear and accessories brands.

The licensing deal is one of five announced by Sperry as the company looks to expand its product lineup with belts, bags, eyewear and other accessories.

The Sperry swimwear will be rolled into boutique shops, department stores and Sperry stores beginning in October.

Manhattan Beachwear has the license to make and sell swimwear under a number of brands including Kenneth Cole New York, Ralph Lauren, Trina Turk, Nanette Lepore and ABS.

Manhattan Beachwear also makes swimwear under its in-house labels La Blanca, 24th & Ocean and The Bikini Lab among others.
