Aliso Viejo-based 1950s-style American diner chain Johnny Rockets Group Inc. is set to expand into Indonesia next year as the chain continues an aggressive push into international territories.
The company is owned by Lake Forest-based RedZone Capital GP LLC and has more than 300 company-owned and franchised restaurants in 16 countries.
The new franchise agreement calls for the first Indonesian restaurant to open at the Beach Walk Center at Kuta Bali by the first half of next year.
The agreement allows for four more restaurants in Indonesia to open over the next five years.
The news follows other international growth for the restaurant chain in recent months.
A franchisee opened a Johnny Rockets in Colima, Mexico, earlier this month. It’s the chain’s fourteenth restaurant in Mexico.
In October, a franchisee opened three restaurants in South Korea.
