Angels TV Lineup Almost Set

It looks like Arte Moreno’s Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will have to wait a year to significantly boost its broadcasting lineup.

Moreno’s Angels LP is getting close to finishing its television schedule for this season. FoxSportsNet West plans to show 50 games,30 less than it showed last season.

Angels spokesman Tim Mead declined to talk about Fox’s coverage.

Meanwhile, KCAL Channel 9 plans to televise 50 games this season, up from 45 last year. But the Angels will have to look elsewhere in 2006 because KCAL signed a pact to show only Los Angeles Dodgers games for that season.

Mead declined to comment on television prospects for the 2006 season.

ESPN has agreed to carry 10 games in 2005, compared to nine last season. And the Angels are in talks with KDOC Channel 56 for another 40 games this year.

Mead said the team hopes to have those talks wrapped up in the next couple of weeks. Last year KDOC carried eight games.

PAX-TV also carried eight games last year, but the struggling station isn’t likely to pick up any games this year.

The dozen or so games that haven’t been scheduled for broadcast could get added later. Three games weren’t televised last season.
