Rutan & Tucker Adds Two Partners
Costa Mesa law firm Rutan & Tucker LLP has added Mark Payne and Martin Taylor as partners to bolster the firm’s bankruptcy, real estate and labor practices.
Both started work early this month.
Payne is a labor/employment lawyer who has represented clients in the retail, telecom and financial sectors. He comes to Rutan & Tucker from the Irvine office of Morrison & Foerster LLP. Prior to that Payne was an attorney in the Irvine office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP for nearly nine years.
Payne earned his law degree at the Williamsburg, Va.-based College of William and Mary’s Marshall-Wythe School of Law, where he graduated in the top 5% of his class and received the Order of the Coif.
Taylor is a bankruptcy and finance specialist with experience in real estate and asset-based transactions, including master-planned communities, shopping centers and office buildings. He comes to Rutan & Tucker from the OC office of Snell & Wilmer LLP.
Taylor earned his law degree at the University of Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, also receiving the Order of the Coif.
“Mark and Marty bring a lot of experience to Rutan & Tucker and add to the firm’s capabilities in several of our key practices,” said managing partner Jeff Oderman.
The addition of Payne and Taylor give the firm 122 attorneys. With roots going back to 1906, Rutan & Tucker is the largest law firm with its headquarters in OC.
