Anaheim-based EV maker Phoenix Motor Inc. (Nasdaq: PEV) said it appointed Lewis Liu as senior vice president of program management office and business development and Mark Hastings as senior vice president of corporate development and strategy and head of investor relations.
Liu previously served as VP of business development and strategy and as corporate process executive at Irvine EV maker Karma Automotive. He counts over 30 years of experience working with EVs and in supply chain and operations management.
Hastings brings years of experience from working on Wall Street and in the energy sector, Phoenix officials said. He most recently served as the vice president of finance and insurance at New York-based fintech startup Rodo. Prior to that, Hastings served as the portfolio manager and head of investor relations for energy funds Geosphere and Saugatuck energy.
“The additions of Lewis and Mark will help bolster our senior management team as we execute on our global growth strategy,” Phoenix CEO Dr. Lance Zhou, the former Karma CEO who joined the company earlier this year, said in a statement. “We are delighted to bring in such high-caliber veterans.”
Shares in Phoenix jumped 13% to $3.21 per share and a $62 million market cap. The company went public early June at $6.50 per share, raising $16 million.
