Luxury goods distributor MadaLuxe Group in Seal Beach promoted Adam Freede from president to chief executive.
Freede said he’s “thrilled” to transition into his new role and help the company in its expansion plans.
“MadaLuxe Group is uniquely positioned to modernize the off-price market by meeting the needs of the informed consumer who wants affordable, curated items,” he said in a statement.
Sandy Sholl, MadaLuxe’s former chief executive and Freede’s mother, will now serve as executive chairman but continue to oversee retail, e-commerce and marketing.
The company also announced plans to open a second off-price luxury boutique, MadaLuxe Vault, in San Clemente in April. It expanded into retail in December with the opening of its first MadaLuxe Vault boutique at Citadel Outlets in Commerce.
The firm will also open a 9,000-square-foot showroom in New York this spring.
MadaLuxe specializes in the wholesale distribution of luxury apparel and accessories to off-price retailers, as well as luxury timepieces by Ferragamo, Versace and Versus Versace to regularly-priced stores in North America.
The company’s shops and its e-commerce site carry men’s and women’s luxury goods from labels such as Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Bottega Veneta and Brioni.
The company is also an equity owner of contemporary women’s line Haute Hippie.
