Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was down 0.2% to 3,844.15 in midday trading Friday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.4% to 31,067.81, while the Nasdaq slipped 0.1% to 13,511.36.

Crude oil was off 1.5% to $52.33.

Gold was down 0.6% to $1,855.60.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury fell 1.8% to 1.09%.


Shares of Huntington Beach restaurant chain BJ’s Restaurants Inc. (Nasdaq: BJRI) fell 4.4% to $44.16, a day after releasing preliminary results for its fiscal fourth quarter ended Dec. 29 that showed a miss on revenue. The company had a recent market cap of $995 million.

BJ’s led the decline among OC restaurant stocks Friday.

Costa Mesa-based El Pollo Loco Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: LOCO) was down 2.5% to $19.36 for a market cap of $709 million. Del Taco Restaurants Inc. (Nasdaq: TACO) of Lake Forest was off 1.4% to $9.88 for a market cap of $369 million. Newport Beach-based Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) was down 1.2% to $1,485.76 for a market cap of $42 billion.


Irvine medical device maker ClearPoint Neuro Inc. (Nasdaq: CLPT) rose 11% to $21.42. The company, with a market cap of $362 million was trading on volume higher than its daily average.
