Weekly figures for new coronavirus cases in Orange County once again dipped slightly lower, with 51 average cases reported each day in the past week.

That’s down from 52 for the week prior, and from 60 for the week ending April 10.

While case jumps in cities like Anaheim, Santa Ana and Huntington Beach have resulted in higher average daily cases for the county in the past several days, cities that initially saw high per capita increases have been on the decline.

Laguna Beach and Newport Beach were among tops for cases during March, with about 15 and 9 cases per 10,000 residents, the highest for the county.

In the past week, Laguna Beach has had no new cases; Newport Beach has had just one, bringing their respective totals to 36 and 91.

There were 33 cases reported Friday, with 1,267 tests done, the highest testing figure to date. The county had 1,845 cases as of Friday, with nearly 22,100 people receiving tests.
