Koire Rogers and Anthony Laborin, who worked together as general manager and bar manager at Farmhouse at Roger’s Gardens and Arc Food & Libations, are partnering again for their first restaurant project Verde, set to open this fall in Costa Mesa.
The culinary duo is collaborating with Executive Chef Paula Balderrama, who has worked at Pizzeria Mozza in Newport Beach, Fable & Spirit in Newport Beach, Folks Pizzeria at The Camp in Costa Mesa and Puesto in Irvine, to serve a menu of California cuisine such as seafood stew and tagliatelle.
The two-story location will open at The Ranch at Newport Bay property. Designed as two different concepts, the main restaurant will be located on level two with a bar-focused venue, dubbed Bar Verde, on the lower floor.
The upper level, open for lunch and dinner, will accommodate approximately 70 seats, including 10 bar seats. The first-floor venue will be open for dinner until midnight offering seats including a 16-person banquet.
“We wanted to create a space that fills what we saw as a void in Orange County where a beverage program will not only complement incredible food but be a draw all on its own,” Rogers said in a statement.
