The S&P rose 0.4% to 4,126.57, the Dow increased 0.2% to 32,956.39 and Nasdaq was up 0.3% to 12,045.33 during midday trading.
Crude oil was down 0.2% at $118.65 a barrel.
Gold decreased 0.3% to $1,845 an ounce.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 2.23% to 3.023%.
Irvine-based Vizio Holding Co. (NYSE: VZIO) rose 5.4% to $9.51 with a market cap of $1.8 billion. The TV and digital media company’s Chief Financial Officer Adam Townsend will participate at the Bank of America Securities 2022 Global Technology Conference this Tuesday.
Staar Surgical Co. (Nasdaq: STAA) increased 5.2% to $68.43 with a $3.3 billion market cap, although shares of the Lake Forest-based medical eye lens developer have fallen 27% since the beginning of the year.
