The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.3% to 36,066.73.

The Nasdaq increased 0.7% to 15,915.07.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond plunged 2.9% to 1.535%.

The price of gold grew 1.7% at $1,794 an ounce.

Crude oil was flat at $80.97 a barrel.

Brea-based Envista Holdings Corporation (NYSE: NVST) jumped 5% to $42.42 per share and a $6.8 billion market cap. The Brea-based provider of dental products yesterday reported third-quarter sales, which increased 11% to $607.3 million. Its emerging markets, including China, also grew over 15%.

TECHNOLOGY­­

Shares in TV maker and media company Vizio Holding Corp. (NYSE: VZIO) in Irvine dropped 5.2% to $18.67 per share for a $3.5 billion market cap. According to an article published today in website InvestorsObserver, analysts still expect its stock to rise about 63% over the next 12 months. The company said it will issue third-quarter results on Nov. 9.
