Consultancy Names Interim CEO

Irvine-based Resources Connection, Inc. named Kate Duchene interim chief executive after the unexpected retirement of Tony Cherbak due to health issues. The company released the news after the close of the markets today.

Its board plans to search for a permanent CEO, and Duchene is an eligible candidate.

The company said Cherbak will remain a member of theboard and will become a part-time employee and a special adviser to Duchene during the transition.

Duchene is the company’s chief legal officer, executive vice president of human resources and secretary and has worked there for 16 years.

Cherbak has been CEO for more than three years and has been with the company since 2005.

“We accept Tony’s retirement news with deep regret but understand that his health comes first and he must address a recent medical issue,” said board Chairman Donald B. Murray.

“The Board fully and unanimously endorses Kate for the role of Interim CEO … and (she) is fully equipped to lead the Company forward,” Murray said. “Kate is a great role model for working women and she embodies the culture of the company fully.”

Resources Connection Inc. is the No. 2 management consultant in Orange County. It has over 1,800 clients and employs 3,300 companywide and 231 locally. It provides specialists in change management, restructuring, supply chain management, and corporate governance.
