Non-profit Working Wardrobes closed out this year’s annual fundraising gala with more than $452,000 raised, a record for the 31-year-old group.
The non-profit’s annual event helps raise funds for the organization’s programs serving the unemployed and underemployed.
Some 320 attendees gathered at the Turnip Rose in Costa Mesa for the event, marking a return of the gala since canceling it in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The fundraiser comes as founder and CEO Jerri Rosen readies for her announced departure from the organization at the end of December. Bonni Pomush was named successor and will join Working Wardrobes in Nov. 8 for a transition period until she officially steps into the CEO role Jan. 1.
Pomush is currently the executive director of The Samueli Center for Progressive Judaism.
