Mazda Motor Corp. said it plans to introduce a compact crossover SUV, the Mazda CX-3, at the Los Angeles Auto Show next month.
Mazda CX-3 will feature Skyactiv technology and Kodo design, with “sharper form” and “an enhanced sense of speed,” according to the company. Skyactiv is Mazda’s proprietary technology that focuses on increasing fuel efficiency and engine performance.
The automaker’s current offering of crossover SUVs includes the Mazda CX-5 and three-row CX-9 models.
An updated version of CX-5 will also debut at the auto show, along with the Mazda6 sedan and the 2016 Mazda MX-5 roadster.
Mazda’s North American Operations in Irvine oversees marketing, parts and customer service support of Mazda vehicles in the United States and Mexico for Japan-based Mazda Motor Corp.
