The S&P 500 was unchanged in midday trading at 2,746.89.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.1% to 24,792.04.

The Nasdaq increased 0.2% to 7,624.66.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond declined 0.9% to 2.91%.

The price of gold climbed 0.4% to $1,303.

RETAIL

Tilly’s Inc. (NYSE: TLYS) increased 6.4% to $15.55 and a $453 million market cap. Shares of the Irvine-based retailer have jumped 31% since May 30, when it reported fiscal first-quarter revenue and profit that topped analysts’ consensus. Also, mall stocks are “breaking higher in an unexpected move,” the Seeking Alpha website reported today.

RESTAURANTS

El Pollo Loco Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: LOCO) rose 4.7% to $11.10 and a $429 million market cap. CNBC Mad Money host Jim Cramer and a guest technician suggested Costa Mesa-based El Pollo Loco may reach almost $14. Cramer also said he liked the potential of Lake Forest’s Del Taco Restaurants (Nasdaq: TACO), up 3.6% to $12.81, and Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMB), which is moving to Newport Beach, up 2.6% to $455.27, up 58% YTD. Former Taco Bell CEO Brian Niccol took the helm at Chipotle in March, and drove the move west.
